Obituary of Joseph McDonald

McDONALD, Joseph John (WWII veteran, boat builder, curler, horseman) passed away peacefully at his home in Gananoque on February 12, 2011 in his 88th year. Survived by his children, Judy Senkowski (Ted), Mark (Margaret), Faye, Andrew (Kerry), son-in-law Gord Parsons and one sister, Gloria Roth. Predeceased by his daughter Jane Parsons and his children's mother Ruth McDonald. Also predeceased by five sisters, Benita Driscoll, Betty Keyes, Agnes Fisher, Angela Wayland and Margaret O'Donnell Bamford. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Katie Kinghan (Rob), David Parsons (Leila), Matthew Senkowski, Marta, Molly, Alec, and Eric, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to John and Jeanette Keyes for their loving and constant care and to his nurses Diane and Peggy. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Joe's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will take place in the spring. Donations to the MS Society in memory of Joe's daughter Jane would be appreciated by the family.
