Dear Mrs. Chitty and Family, I wish to express my sincerest condolences in Bill's passing. I was deeply saddened, as the town has lost another very valuable anchor. Bill was instrumental in so many things over the years, he will be sorrowly missed by many people. I enjoyed bantering back and forth with Bill during his time on Council and thoroughly enjoyed and admired his tenacity and vigor he displayed when playing music with my father. Whenever he attempted anything, he certainly put his all into it. Please know that my thoughts are with all of you at this most difficult time.

It was with great sadness but enduring admiration that we received news of Bill's passing. He was a colleague, supporter and inspiration to both of us. Indeed, "a gentle, perfect knight" of corrections , a valued friend and a frequent source of humour, help and honour. We shall be very fortunate to see his like again John and Lorraine Braithwaite

Such a warm hearted man. He always was happy to be surounded by family and friends. I always felt his warm welcome (home away from home). I'll miss his quirky humour, his unconditional interest and love, and his zest for learning and life. Wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and that I was sorry I was unable to go to the funeral. Good to hear that others were able to attend. Love Dodo

To aunt Marg, Karen , Heather, Bob, Philip, your father enriched our lives so much, He and Marg taking us in when we had to take Kala to sick hospital in Toronto. Marg you and he ,loved us unconditional He enriched our lives with wonderful stories of the Chitty Family and of Dad [ Dave } and he and other siblings when younger. His visits here to our home with Karen, Rick, He and Aunt Marg were so very precious to us, how we loved to sit and listen to his stories, our favorite being the one about holding the bloody light, how we laughed. My dear Uncle Bill you will be so very missed in this house. YOu will never be forgotten as you have a place in the heart of myself, David, Brendon but Kala you captivated my young daughters heart forever. How we love you. Brenda, David, Brendon and Kala

Our thoughts are with you during this time. Bill was quite a fiddler and we still chuckle about the time he mistakenly took home Gordon's $3000 dollar bow instead of his own after a lesson. Gordon called him and told him he would have expected more of a prison guard. Condolences, Gordon and Anita Andrews.
