Obituary of Phil Linder

Linder: Phil It is with great sadness of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of PHILIP STUART LINDER from Gananoque, Ontario, formerly a resident of Ladner BC and Calgary Alberta. Philip (Phil) leaves behind his loving wife Marie Edwards nee Keane of Gananoque, Ontario, formerly of Kingston, Ontario and Ladner BC, his daughter Tara (Joel) sons Phil Jr, (Theresa), Kelly and Jason (Rachel); and grandchildren; Devon, Liam, Christina, Noah, Mia and Shayna, his brother and sister in law Ernie and Valerie and nephews Christopher (Andrea) and Michael (Gisele). Phil was predeceased by his father Albert and is survived by his mother Lillian. Born on November 13, 1948 in Calgary Alberta, Phil was a graduate of the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Education. Phil worked his way up through the ranks to chief Training Officer for the Vancouver Fire and rescue Service. After his retirement from VFRS he became involved with Quantum Environmental Group and was founder of the Quantum Response Division as National Director. Phil was a champion sailor, and avid skier. He also enjoyed curling, hockey, football and golf. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, coach, mentor and friend. His energy, wonderful humour and hard working ethic were just a few of his fine qualities. Phil and Marie had just recently moved with his mother Lillian to Gananoque from British Columbia to enjoy the beautiful Thousand Islands area and start a new chapter to their lives. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 until time of service in our chapel at 12:30 pm. Followed by cremation. The family would like to sincerely thank the ICU Doctors, Nurses, and Social Worker Cathy and staff at the KGH for their wonderful care, support and compassion.
