Passed away peacefully at the Carveth Care Centre on Saturday September 17, 2022 at the age of 96. Dorothy Garrah (nee Powley), beloved wife of the late Clarence Garrah. Much loved mother of Patrick (Weiwei), Donald, Nancy Phillips and Kathy Martin (Late Rusty). Cherished grandmother of Jamie, Peter, Jacqui, Pamela, Jeffrey, Aimee, Lindsay, Gwendelyn, Jennifer, and Thomas. Adored Great grandmother to Quinn, Logan, Camryn, Claire, Henry, Laura, Weston, Neve, Aidan, Oakley, Easton, Everett and Conner. Predeceased by one son Michael (Terry), her parents Cecil and Gertrude Powley and by 2 brothers Andrew and Ralph Powley and by 1 sister Ruth McDonald. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a loyal friend, wife and neighbor a caring volunteer, the voice of reason, the shoulder to cry on and the wind in your sails. Special thanks to Carveth for their extraordinary, compassionate care. Dorothy was very content in your care.The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church on Saturday September 24 at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal St. Johns Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the War Amputations of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
