Funnell: George

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Funnell Jr. at Kingston General Hospital on August 25, 2022 in his 69th year.
Predeceased by his mother Mollie (Leeder) and father George Funnell Sr. and his cherished sister Julia Ann Funnell. George is survived by his cousins John Keilty (Noni) of Kingston, ON, Anne Isaac (Jim) and Deannie Sargent (Bob) of Milton, ON, and Murray Keyes of Gananoque, ON. A very special thank you to George’s best friend Murray Keyes for his friendship, care and kindness.
Over the years there were so many visitors and volunteer students from Gananoque Secondary to the Funnell home.  George maintained a special relationship with so many of the incredible teachers and staff. The kindness they all showed him was truly remarkable. Friends will be received at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church on Tuesday August 30 at 11:00 am. Rite of committal St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy, St. Johns Church Restoration Fund or to the Gananoque Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. “Rest In Peace dear George”.
