Although Ed does not appear in this April 25, 1967 Gananoque Reporter photo, it is a good look at some of his old friends from the early part of his Gananoque Fire career. Ed was loved and respected by all who worked with him in those days.

My condolences to the Dempster family. I had known Ed since childhood, and we did a lot of travelling together to fireman's parades in upper New York state during 1966-67. We had both wound up as Gananoque volunteer firemen after having served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Ed was born to serve, and he did it well. May you R.I.P. old friend.
