Obituary of John Edward Hnatchuk

Hnatchuk: John Edward 

May 17, 1956 – January 1, 2022

With his beloved family by his side in Zephyrhills, Florida on Saturday January 1, 2022. John passed away after a battle to beat all battles with Covid 19.

He fought like the hero he was till the very end. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife and best friend Cathy (McCoy/Lawr). Proud and tender-hearted father of his 3 daughters Carrie Kanzig (Christopher), Katherine Hnatchuk (Andres) and Jennifer Piche (Moise). Loyal and caring step-father to Crystal McCoy and Jeffery McCoy (Colleen Wynne). Cherished and lovingly known as “GRUMPY” to all of his grandchildren: Korbin, Courtney, Cassidy, Matthew, Hailey, Daniel, Kohan born January 3, 2022 as  Johns first great grandchild as well his step grandchildren Alisha, Terrence, Nathaniel, Caleb and Avery. Brother of Janet Rudyk (Clifford predeceased). Predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice Hnatchuk. A graveside service will ne held in Richmond Hill at a later date. Donations can be made in his name to Blue Door Shelter and the Gananoque Food Bank. The family wishes to thank the staff in the ICU department at Advent Health Hospital Zephyrhills, Florida for the wonderful care they received.
