Funnell: Julia Ann Jan 4, 1945 Feb 5, 2021 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Julia Ann on February 5, 2021 at Fox Run Retirement Home in Gananoque, Ontario in her seventy seventh year. Much loved sister of George Funnell Jr. of Gananoque, cherished cousin of John Keilty ( Noni ) Kingston ON., Anne Isaac ( Jim ), Deannie Sargent ( Bob ) of Milton ON. Predecessor by her Mother Mollie ( Leeder ) and Father George Funnell Sr. Julia Ann was a cherished sister to her brother George. The love and care that she gave him over the years was truly amazing. She was kind, compassionate and so patient and she demonstrated these qualities throughout her nursing career. Julia Ann was a graduate of Hotel Dieu Hospital and retired after 35 years of nursing, she was loved by her co-workers and many, many friends with whom she enjoyed lifelong friendships. Her warmth, calm demeanour and terrific sense of humour made all the many visitors to the Funnell home feel so welcomed. Julia Ann was an avid reader whose knowledge of history and politics led to many a debate. We mourn her passing. She will be truly missed. A special thank you to Dr. Arawn Therrien who provided her with fantastic care over the years. A huge thank you to Heather Howard and her amazing staff at Fox Run Retirement Residence for the wonderful compassion and comfort. Due to COVID restrictions a private family funeral will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Gananoque ON. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
