Obituary of Grover William Clare

It is with great sadness that the family of Grover William Clare announce that he passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the age of 87. Grover will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rachel, his children Susan (Pete), Sandra (Peter), Jon (Valerie), Joanne (Phil), and Jayne (Steve), his stepchildren Miles (Wouda), Joy, Gina (Alex), Lisa (Terry) and Ava (Dave), his grandchildren Stacie (Guillaume), Pete (Karla), Willie (Ally), Jon (Erica), Katy (Mike), Josh (Lauren), Phil (Lisa), Chris (Geneva), and Amy (Andrew), his step-grandchildren Bryce (Sandra), Chad (Kassie), Ian, Keeley, Connor (Ingrid), and Addison, and his 18 great-grandchildren. Grover was predeceased by Joyce Clare his wife of 54 years, his parents Grover and Pat and little brother Jon.

Visitation will be held at Tompkins Funeral Home in Gananoque on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Grover was an avid sports fan especially anything Toronto.  He would love to see everyone sporting their hats, t-shirts or jerseys at the visitation.  

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 6^th from 6 - 9 at the Gananoque Curling Club. The family would like to thank the doctors and all the staff at the Kingston General Hospital for their care of Grover and support to his family.

As per Grover’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gananoque Curling Club (“to keep curling alive in Gananoque”).
