Passed away at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on his 79^th birthday, October 10, 2018. Beloved husband of 51 years to Sophie McDonald (nee Jankowski). Much-loved father of Teresa McDonald (Dave Brown), Catherine McDonald (Tom MacDonald), Doris Prior (Mike), John McDonald, Genevieve Lanigan (Barry), Margaret Fowler (Richard), and Joseph McDonald (Amanda). Cherished grandfather of Gabriel, Michael and Anna Brown, Eric, Emerson, Emily and Jacob Prior, Rachel and Harriet McDonald, Joseph (deceased), Brendan, Julia and Jack Lanigan, Joshua and Nathan Fowler, and Declan, Angus and Mary-Clare McDonald. Dear brother of Frances (Alex deceased) McDonald, Jack (deceased (Doris, Mary deceased)) McDonald, June (Bill deceased) Palmaruk, Emerson (deceased) (June) McDonald, Brian (Diane) McDonald, Elaine (Larry) Gareau and Gus McDonald. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Angus and Harriet McDonald. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home (63 Garden St. Gananoque) on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Gananoque, on Monday, October 15, at 11am. Rite of committal St. John’s Cemetery following the mass. Reception to follow at the Gananoque Legion on King St. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Kingston, St. John the Apostle Church, Kingston, or St. John the Evangelist Church, Gananoque would be appreciated by the family.
