We are so sorry to hear about Earl’s passing.
He has always been a very close and special friend over these many many years. We were “best” men at one another’s weddings.
I will forever remember his special way of being to all and the times we shared whether we were together or separated by the miles.
True friendship knows no bounds.
Our prayers are with each one of you and especially with you Sophie as you slowly come to terms with your loss of one so precious.
Love and prayers,
Carl & Peg Madigan

I was so very sorry to hear this news. Twenty years ago, I had the extreme good fortune to be among a small group of students Earl "The Pearl" McDonald chaperoned on a trip to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It was just 10 days, but it was an often intense and emotional trip, and Earl's quiet, steady presence made a lasting impact on us all. He became much more than a chaperone - he was a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a surrogate parent who cracked dad jokes to lighten the mood when things got too heavy, and a most-excellent Pictionary partner. I lost touch with Earl over the years, but I hope he knew just how big a role he played in making that trip such a special, life-changing experience for us all. He was one of a kind. My deepest condolences to all of his loved ones.

My sincere condolences to you all. I met Earl in 1969 when he and Barb White and I were the "new" teachers at GSS. We always had a connection because of that shared experience. Earl immediately showed his calm, empathetic personality and great teaching skills.
After he moved on to Regi and becameVP, my sons who attended there liked and respected him, too.
Whenever we met over the years Earl's commitment to faith and family were foremost.
We were fortunate to have known him.
Earl. after your last years of suffering you deserve eternal rest.

I have fond memories of Mr. McDonald as a teacher and guidance councilor while I was at Regi. He was a very kind man who took a genuine interest in his students. My condolences to his entire family. It is nice that he was surrounded by his family when he died.
I will be away this weekend and so will not be able to make it to Gananoque for his funeral or wake. I will say prayer for him.
