Carl was my favorite brother and he is my last surviving sibling. I have so many good memories of times spent with him and his family when he lived in Parry Sound. Unfortunately in the past years I was distant and out of touch for too long. Most of our contact was when there was a significant happening of our parents, Wedding Anniversaries, significant birthday dates and funerals. Over the last 2 or 3 years I have been able to visit him and I have talked to him on the phone, not often enough. I called him on his birthday but got his answering machine, left a message, but did not call him back. When I was young he wrote in my autograph book that he hoped some day I would let him give me a hug (I didn't like hugs back then), I have learned since that hugs are good. On my last visit with Carl when I was giving him a hug, he said, 'I have never had a relationship with you like this'. He wanted more hugs, so we shared them.
