I learn only today about Herb passing, many months later. He was one of my favorite encounters on the water, when I was myself aboard my sailboat. We shared some great moments over the last 10 years, and he and his wife taught me many great things about the ICW and the way to travel South, which they did 8 or 10 times, I forgot, if not more.
I will miss him. I was sure he would make it easily to 100 years and more, just the way he was enjoying swimming in the water, even so early in the season ! I was watching him with 2 sweaters on my shoulders to keep warm...
