Sylvia was a woman with great conviction who served her community tirelessly. She was a friend to everyone, always had a welcoming smile and a very gracious soul. My father Lou, always spoke in high regard of her commitment to the town of Gananoque. Sylvia was a matriarch for her family and will be missed by many. The only thing you can take with you when you leave this world are the memories and love you have packed inside your heart and Sylvia's heart was definitely full. We felt so sad to read of Sylvia's passing after just bumping into she and Hector at KGH only a few week's ago. I grew up on the same street as the Phillips family but it was only in the last five or six years that I really got to know Sylvia. We were always running into each other at the hospital or the doctors office but no matter how Sylvia was feeling, she always had time for a chat. I will miss her.
