Things I loved about her - her style, her hospitality, her sense of humour, her classy determination, and her fragility. And that laugh - just the most attractive chuckle in the world. As a child, Aunt Anneke and my mother on the beach in Bayfield were my idea of what being a mother was going to be like - tanned, laughing and beautiful. They had so much fun together - I can picture them now on the night that one of them thought to bring a bottle of wine to a family weiner roast and they raised a toast to this being the life as the sun went down. As a new mother, Aunt Anneke set me at ease as only she could when her response to my toddler throwing food all over her beautifully decorated dining room during Christmas Eve dinner was to laugh, and tell a story about how she ended up feeding John David sandwiches for an entire year because he would throw anything else. A perfect way to relax me, and allow me to enjoy the moment too. I wish that I could be there in person, but my thoughts are with you. Love to all, Alexandra
