Dear Pat and family, Mom called earlier this evening to let me know that Gordon had died. When she did I couldn't help thinking of all the times Gordon used to come into our home after he and dad were out in the field working, or putting up corn or helping each other out in one way or another. As a child I always remember Gordon as being kind, good natured and funny. I can also remember how he used to laugh, and when he did his whole body would shake!! I also remember Gordon from all the years we attended 4-H meetings at your house. I can still remember him coming in from the barn, usually about the time whatever we were baking was ready to come out of the oven, and Pat trying to shoo him from the kitchen and the confusion of all of us girls. I'm sure you all have great memories of this man. As far as I can tell he was the honest, hard-working, well respected community member that we no longer have enough of anymore. I also know my dad thought the world of Gordon. I can remember when he and mom were away he always reminded us if we ever were stuck or needed a hand with anything to be sure and call Gordon, because he would help us out of whatever mess we might have gotten ourselves into. I hope and I pray that in your time of grief and loss you will be able to hold on to the many, many good things that made up the life of your husband, father and grandfather. I know you will all miss him, yet I trust your memories will see you through. God bless you all in this time of loss, L. Joanne McFadden
