To Gayle's friends and family. You would not know me, but, I worked with Gayle at Scarborough General Hospital many years ago. It was about 1977 to about 1980 or 1981. I was a recent nursing graduate and Gayle was one of my first mentors. I remember her to be, beautiful, with the skin of a baby, and brown eyes that were deep and caring. I remember her to be, a wonderful nurse, and that she could laugh easily in spite of her sad past. Gayle told me about the loss of John. I also knew Bill. She and Bill came to my house when I got a new puppy and really had no idea how to manage him. They came and gave me advise and I remember we played cards and laughed a lot that night. I remember she had a cottage that she loved so much in "Gan". Little did I know then that I too would become familiar with her cherished Thousand Islands. I moved here to Kingston 14 years ago and had lost touch with Gayle all those years ago. I read the paper this morning and couldn't beleive that I saw Gayle's name in the Kingston paper. I am sad for your loss of a such a good soul as Gayle. I send to you and all who loved her, my deepest sympathies, may your memories of her bring you comfort in your sadness. If you had a chance I would love to know if Gayle retired to her cottage, and did she continue to work in nursing here in Kingston or Gan. I would love to hear anything about her. But, if you don't want to share that information, I would understand as well. Please take care. Kathy ( Brinkman ) Hatch
