Obituary of Frances Scott

Frances Evelyn Scott August 23, 1924 - December 29, 2010 Peacefully at the Carlingview Manor on December 29, 2010, Frances Evelyn Scott nee McKenney age 86 years. Frances was born in Frankville, ON and raised in Athens and Charleston Lake ON. Daughter of the late John McKenney and Frances Hudson of Athens, ON. Cherished mother to Cathy and Ann Scott, Ottawa, ON. Predeceased by her beloved husband John J. (Jack) Scott and her son Edward J. Scott. Also predeceased by her brother, Carl McKenney (late Mary Doyle) and her sister Helen (McKenney) Dillion (late Thomas). Following the death of her mother in 1929, Frances was raised by her Aunt Helen (nee Hudson) and Uncle Ford Molton. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Mary O'Hearn nee Scott (late Lappan) Gananoque, ON and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her life revolved around her family, friends and her faith, these supports helped to keep her strong and accepting of the difficult challenges she had to endure in her lifetime. Frances loved listening to music, playing the piano, travelling, laughing, being with her family and having fun with friends. Frances touched the lives of many people with her smile, kindness, compassion, generosity, and maintained her sense of humor all the way to the end. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Stone Street, Gananoque, ON on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 am. Rite of committal St. John's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Cancer Society or to St. John's Restoration Fund would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Carlingview Manor especially the 6th floor, for their love, care and compassion shown to our mother during the past 18 months.
