Obituary of Jack Downey

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Downey: Jack Ingham Late of Gananoque born October 4th 1925 has died. He was pre deceased by older brother Robert and sister Isobel. Jack was the only possible choice as husband for the late Muriel Clappison and she was the only possible choice as wife for him. Life partners and co-conspirators with their daughter Christine, they lived a full and happy life. "Uncle" Jack was known to have the best lap for sitting on and was a dab hand at the construction of electro-magnets or flashlights for his grandsons Samuel and Zachary. Later he graciously worked with Ben Bright, his son-in-law as they found ways to make Jacks' life more comfortable as Parkinson's disease took its toll. Jack was at heart an artist, and cared passionately about the world and how society treated "the least of these". The kindest of men, he (in the words of his grade 8 teacher) had a "heightened sense of the absurd" and brought that to all life trials. A Celebration of Jack's Life will take place at St. James Anglican Church, Stratford, Ontario on Thursday January 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm Donations to www.palcanada.org in support of retired artists would be appreciated.
