When I fist met Larry, he dove right into conversation with me, he discussed any topic that came to mind and I immediately knew many of his interests- politics, the daily news and traveling around the world (with Linda). I felt like i could ask Larry anything, discuss anything and he would be able to provide advice or different viewpoints. He was incredibly encouraging and felt that Bri or I could accomplish anything we wanted in life. He provided advice to achieve our goals, how to overcome obstacles and never put down a belief or idea but always came up with a way to encourage us to do better or believe in our self. There were no boundaries to him. Larry would always listen to my interests or any top topics of a conversation and would remember. Whether he was passing by a news stand or a garage sale, if he thought it was of any interest or could help better inform me he always thought of me but not just me, the family. Whether it was a newspaper clipping, a magazine or even a CD Larry would always think to bring it down on his way to Ottawa (sometimes even hiding it from Linda). Linda and Larry never missed my birthday and if they couldn't come down right away, they sang it together over the phone. It would have been nice to have had more time to talk to Larry, I always knew I could count on him for advice and kind words. We have many more things in life that will come our way, wish he could be here for these moments and milestones. I know Bri and I will miss him greatly and remember him greatly. He was a good man. Kyle

Brianne, I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your Uncle, I know how much he meant to you. Even though your heart is currently heavy with sorrow, I know it will soon be filled with warm thoughts and memories of the amazing man you knew. Heaven holds a special place for him, just like the special place he holds in your heart. My thought and prayers are with you, Kyle and your family at this very difficult time. Kelly & Tim

Hearing the news about Larry's passing left me very sad and reflective of my time spent with him. Larry was easily among the most kind, intelligent, genuine people I will ever be blessed to meet. I met Larry at the age of 20, he was the first person outside of my own family that made it seem like it was "cool" that I was Aboriginal. I wasn't quite used to such a positive reaction about my native culture and I believe Larry recognized that I had a lot to learn about the history of Aboriginal people. Larry bought me my first two books about Aboriginal people, then he started saving me newspaper articles about current events affecting Aboriginal people, then more books, and of course, when we were together he would engage me in informative discussion about my culture. 15 years later and 30 plus books read about my culture, I routinely participate in Aboriginal traditions and events, I am engaged with my native family and now find comfort and peace when visiting my family's territory. I am "loud and proud" about my beautiful heritage and I will always have Larry to thank for pushing me towards this new and improved me. Larry, you clearly made a big impact on me in the fairly brief time I had with you, and I know you made an even bigger better impact on my husband who has a lifetime of only the happiest memories with you and Linda. Thank you for continued support and encouragement, you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace and paradise always, Louann

We are heartbroken. Our family circle has been broken again. Larry was a gentle and thoughtful brother-in-law and uncle. Always a good listener and always engaged in what was going on in our lives. We will miss him terribly. Jean & Eric
