Obituary of Mary Lawrence

Lawrence: Mary Helena (nee Rose), RN (Class of 1927 St. Joseph's School of Nursing, HDH) Peacefully at Providence Manor on Monday March 9, 2009. Mary Rose in her 105th year beloved wife of the late Roland J. Lawrence. Loving mother of James and his wife Mary and Robert. Dear mother in law of Harriet and Nancy. Predeceased by 2 sons Jack and Frank, 1 daughter in law Shirley, and 3 brothers Harry, Frank and Hugh. Survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends sincere thanks to the Staff of Sydenham and Montreal 3 for the superb and compassionate care given to mom during her stay at Providence Manor. The family will receive friends at the Central Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral home 49 Colborne St. (at Clergy) on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and at the Providence Manor on Friday from 10am until time of Mass at 11am. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel, Providence Manor 275 Sydenham St. on Friday March 13 at 11am. Rite of committal Prayers at St. Mary's Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the UHKF(Providence Care) or to the Hotel Dieu hospital would be appreciated by the Lawrence Family.(donations by cheque only) Online condolences or to light a memorial candle in Mary's memory please go to www.tompkinsfuneralhome.ca
