This story is more about Peter's genuine and caring character than anything else.
Our daughters played girls' hockey together. It seemed to happen that neither seemed to be the coach's favourite, even though they played with heart and soul and great skill.
At the end of one season, the coach acted out of line (without stating too much detail here), and as a result, Peter and his wife Lisa, were the first ones to speak up in support of our daughter, without any concern of what the coach would think.
This was indicative of Peter and his family's genuineness.

There are few boaters as avid as Peter... Being neighbours, we'd often see him out on the river, surfing along in his newest pontoon boat, or the runabout. Sometimes at breakneck speed and other times, just lolly-gagging along... but hardly a day went by that he wasn't out there.
We are deeply saddened by his loss, but will fondly remember him as one of the true "river rats" of the St. Lawrence River.

I have so many beautiful memories with you, Peter and the girls as our kids grew up and I was so shocked and deeply saddened hearing the news. I send my heartfelt sympathy and love. Peter was a 'larger than life' person, one who had an infectious positive impact on everyone he met. May you find courage and strength to get through the unbearable days ahead and know that there was nothing more that he loved than his three girls.
