Frank Kinsella hired me as a new teacher in 1978 when he worked in the Fort Frances/Rainy River Board of Ed. He was supportive of all new teachers and really cared about the quality of the teaching in your classroom. I have very positive memories of Frank as a good leader, and am sorry he is no longer with us. He will be missed by many. Sallee Dick

Mary Lou and family I wanted to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family during this sad time. I contacted the 1000 Islands Area of China and passed on the news of your loss. They provided me this letter to give to you. Dear Mrs Kinsella It saddened us enormously to learn of the passing away of Mr. Frank Kinsella on March 11th, 2016. We are deeply shocked and thrown into profound grief at the loss of a very good friend. Since Chun’an County established official tie with Leeds and the Thousand Islands township in 2009, Mayor Frank had been diligently serving the role of the Honorary Citizen of Chun’an County and strengthening the friendship and partnership of the two cities. His every single effort is forever itched in our memory. May Mayor Kinsella rest in peace. Our memory of him will carry on and our thoughts are with his family. Dear Mr. Lawler, would you please convey our deepest condolences to the family of Mayor Kinsella. Best regards to you and your family. Chai Shimin Mayor of Chun’an County March 11, 2016

Gail and I were very much saddened to learn of Frank's death. As others have stated, he was a terrific leader, always looking for better ways to provide programs to the students and the communities in which he lived and worked. He turned us loose at times, daring us to innovate, and always with humour and support to keep us on the path. Frank loved life, loved being challenged, and even played a fair game of golf. Many good times were had with Frank while he was in the County. Gail and I send heartfelt condolences to Mary Lou and family, and if not currently travelling in California, we would be there on Friday and Saturday.

Marylou . My sincere sympathy to yourself and family on the passing of Frank, as you know I had the pleasure of serving with him on Gananoque town council. His professional approach was always welcome to myself and council and even though our professions were totally different and sometimes our views were far apart we always seemed to find common ground. His contributions will not be forgotten for the public service he has given. My fondest memory of him will be when he congratulated myself last fall when he was mayor of Leeds and 1000 islands on working on a project within the township. He personally came to me and told me a had done a great job. That endorsement will remain with me for the rest of my life knowing it came from a great individual who has given so much of himself as well to his respected communities. Sincerely Roger

Frank will always have a special place in the Dargie family's memories, one that is filled with laughter and light. May his legacy be that of a teacher, mentor, and "practical" philosopher. My sincere condolences to Mary Lou and all Frank's family. Although it's been many years since we worked together in Prince Edward County his passing has brought back a number good memories. Although we didn't always see things the same way, Frank was an easy person to work with because he was totally honest and up front with his opinions. I remember a snow day when I was Principal at PECI and after I had sent all the kids and staff home Frank showed up to check on me. We spent the next two hours beating each others brains out over a ping pong game. I believe some adult beverages may have followed. Rest in peace Frank, you were a strong professional role model for many people

Know that even from the other side of the world my thoughts are now with Mary Lou, David, Shelly, Kurt and all of Frank’s family. I wish I could be there with you at this time. Frank Kinsella was a kind man with a strong presence. I have always had the utmost respect for him. He was never short on advice – and it was usually wise advice too I feel very fortunate to have known Frank. He was one of the motivators for me to become a teacher, although I am still not sure whether I should thank him for that or not. On a trip from my home in Australia back to Canada last summer I was lucky to spend an afternoon with “Captain Frank” in his boat on the water. I’m so happy that I had the opportunity for that visit with him before this very sad time. I will remember Frank Kinsella with a smile. He was a strong and judicious man who tried his best to make the world a better place and he definitely succeeded in doing so.
