We had known Tom for as long as I could remember because he had been visiting our farm since I was a young lad. I would learn something new every time Tom was here, he was a fountain of knowledge and would share his experience with anyone that would listen. Tom was always on the cutting edge of information that would benefit agriculture as a whole and he would always be thinking of the farmer first because deep down he was one of us as well. The loss of Tom will leave a big hole at my farm, for the industry also, and I believe it will never be filled again. Tom, you will be sorrowfully missed but you will never be gone because we will continue to apply your wisdom here at this farm.

To Loretta & all the O'Meara family,
As young children, Irene, Pat & I were so often welcomed at your farm and were family with all of you. Years have carried us in many different directions and have left us without much contact. Just the same, we are connected. Please accept our sympathy and be assured of our prayers. May Tom rest in peace.
Fr. Paul

Carolyn, We are so sorry to hear that your father has passed on. I always knew him as good natured and jovial, a keen observer when at regattas. He was also a very proud father and in many cases you gave him reason to be. Continue to make him proud! Please know that our family is thinking of you and yours and that in time, all things will get better. Best wishes, Chris, Kerry, Sidney and Colin Marshall

To the O'Meara Family, We are very saddened by Tom's passing. He was a quiet man with a big heart. Our memories of Tom: 1950's-Gananoque High School-Peter and Tom were in many of the same classes and they played sports on the same teams, especially football(Tom once ran 100 yards for a touchdown!) 1960's-Peter and Tom would see each other from time to time and discuss their experiences at university and reminisce about the past. 1971-We were moving from Brock Street in Gan to our present farm near Lyndhurst. Tom offered his truck, which had high racks for the move. In his generous nature, he just handed us the keys and said," Here. I don't need it for a couple of days." All he wanted in rturn was a full tank of gas. He was a great friend. 1980's-We have families.Tom and Janet are living near Kendrick's Park. Our sons, Keith and Ian,Jim and Eric, are close in age and are taking swimming lessons at the park, playing T-ball and hockey, and going to one another's birthday parties. A highlight for our sons was when Tom coached their hockey team. We lost touch when th family moved to Brockville, and after the split,we heard only sporadically about the family. Somtimes, it was news about one of the children in the newspaper. News of Tom's illness came from prayers for the sick in church. His aunt, Mary Irene O'hearn, gave me the details. How shocking! Our sincere condolences to you all. We are so sorry for your loss. Due to other commitments, we cannot come to the service; however, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Peter and Claudine Kirkby Keith and Jim
