Obituary of Gerald Manion

Manion: Gerald William, Passed away peacefully on August 23, 2015. He died in his home in Oahu, Hawaii after his battle with cancer. Born on June 28, 1946, he died at the age of 69. Gerry was the child of Dorothy and Emmett Manion and is survived by three sisters, Carolynne Modler, Janice Luchka and Nancy Burt. With his first wife Linda Manion, Gerry had one child, Kathleen Manion and became the proud grandfather of granddaughter Rhea Manion. Gerry survived his second wife Kathleen Sauser. After attending Gananoque Secondary School, Gerry took off to explore various parts of it. An avid traveller and a consummate adventurer, Gerry left many wonderful stories in his wake. His love of the water led him to a long and successful career designing, building and maintaining submersibles. Having lived in various places in North America, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, he quietly spent his final few years in Hawaii. He will be sorely missed by his family for his laconic smile and wry humour. Services to celebrate his life will be held at Tompkins Funeral Home in Gananoque on Saturday, October 10 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and at St. John's Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Donations can be made out to the Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice.
