Dick and I wish to extend our sincere sympathy with Bill and Verda's family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
Throughout christian history...it has become a custom to name a new-born child after a saint as a mentor for the child. We have may mentors today, but unfortunately they are famous, outstanding people from the world of sports, music, movies, etc.
Bill's mother...chose beautiful names for her precious son...Anthony, Joseph.
History: St. Anthony was born 1195 - 1231....He died June 13th..Bill died on..the same day as did his patron saint. St. Anthony was always a ready helper in tme of need.
I remember when Bill and Verda constructed two window boxes to sit over the lights in our kitchen. They drove out to the farm and proceeded to install them and we have enjoyed the creative wood-worked pieces every day since. Bill was a ready helper in our time of need.
St. Joseph's feast day is celebrated around the world every March 19th. Joseph is Bill's second name. Joseph was also a carpenter....Bill was a wonderful carpenter and made numerous pieces of furniture for other people. My daughter Lesa was presented with a table as a wedding gift from Bill and Verda.
History: God chose Joseph to care for Mary and Jesus because his holiness and love for Him was great and his compassion for others was outstanding. His desire to protect his family was honorable. Bill aso had compassion for others along with the virtues of protecting his family honorably.
Bill lived a life worthy of his patron saints and the intercession of his parent's prayers.....and we pray thatt Bill ad Verda may rest in eternal peace. Amen

My sincere condolences to the entire Campanaro family. I just read Lorraine Folk's letter and couldn't agree more. What a great guy and wonderful family. My mother (Mary) loved playing cards with Bill at Stocking Hill. I'm sure there's a euchre game underway 'up there' and the table is full. Again, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

I met Mr. and Mrs. Campanaro when I was in public school in Gananoque. Their daughter Ellen and I started grade one together and Ellen and I have been friends ever since. Over the years, Mr. and Mrs. Campanaro would warmly welcome me into their home and made me feel part of the family. What is one more kid at the table when you already have 6?
Bill worked at a Gan. grocery store in the meat department. I would often stop in on my walk home from high school just to say hi and chat with Bill.
Whenever I visit Ellen, we always go have a visit with Bill. Despite his advancing age and deteriorating health, he continued to make me feel welcome. I can't ever remember a time that I heard Mr. Campanaro raise his voice or say a mean word. He was a gentle, thoughtful, funny soul with a great chuckle. I am glad to have known Bill, this very good man.
My condolences to Bill and Verda's children and their famllies. Bill lived a full life and I am sure you all have many blessed memories to carry forward with you.
