Harper: Gladys Shirley
Peacefully surrounded by her family at the Carveth Care Centre on Wednesday April 8, 2015. Gladys McFarlane Harper in her 101st year beloved wife of the late John Lorne McFarlane ( 1968) and the late Albert Harper (1989). Loving Mother of Shirley Cox (Paul) of Gananoque and Arthur McFarlane (Elaine) of Ottawa. Gladys is survived by 3 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and Great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Leonard and Gertrude Pattem, 2 brothers Cecil Gorden, Ward Wesley, 1 sister Elsie Beatrice and 1 son-in-law Paul Eugene Cox. Gladys was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 50 years and held several positions including Past District Deputy President of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario, she was also a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Gananoque seniors club, Gananoque historical society and was an active bowler, knitter and loved sewing. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service in our chapel at 2 O'clock. Interment in Willowbank cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
