Obituary of Jacqueline Poirier

Poirier: Jacqueline (nee Menard) In loving memory of Jacqueline Poirier, 94 years, who passed away Friday evening January 27th at the Kingston General Hospital, after a brief illness. Jacqueline was predeceased in 1999 by her beloved husband of 56 years, Eddy Poirier. Loving mother of Paula Gavin (Larry) of Gananoque, Ontario and Claudette Tremblay (Herve) of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Brooke Gavin Woboditch (Pete) of Kingston, Ontario, Charles Tremblay (Lianne), Josee Tremblay, and Renee Joly, (Edward), all of Sudbury. Great grandmother of Jasmine and Julia Woboditch, Alyssa, Alana and Tyla Tremblay, Mila Laforest, Edison and Evelyn Joly. Jacqueline is survived by her sister Theresa Menard of Ottawa. Also survived by her sisters in law Ruth Poirier (Paul predeceased) of British Columbia and Claire Poirier (Raymond predeceased) of Cartier Ontario. And also by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Lucille Charette (Alphonse), Dora Monaghan (Gerald) and Florence Laplante (Paul-Emile). In her professional life, Jacqueline was a dedicated teacher having worked for the Sudbury & District Separate School Board for 34 years. She and her husband were avid golfers, travelled extensively, and spent several "snow bird" winters in Florida. Grandma, your little buckaroos say goodnight. You are loved and missed. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa in May.
