Dear DeWolfe family, I was saddened to hear of Doreen's passing she was such a caring person and great teacher. I enjoyed the time I spent with her at Linklater and the conversations we had later in life on the occasions of chance meetings in town. She never forgot who you were which was remarkable given the number of children she taught over the years. May the memories you have of her sustain you through this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I loved knowing Doreen during the time I worked in the office at Linklater. She was a lovely lady, she was compassionate, she loved teaching and her pupils, everyone was treated equally and felt secure with her. I was always flattered when one of the children, and later adults, would call me Mrs. DeWolfe. It was obvious that they loved her. To leave the world a better place is something we would all aspire to, but with Doreen, it was natural. My deepest sympathy to all her family. The happy memories they have will sustain them and remain with them the rest of their lives. Most sincerely, Geraldine Chase

My grade 08 teacher..there were two grade 08 classes..the strict sit in the corner pay attention class and mrs dewolfe's class. My mum had me moved to mrs dewolfe's class as i sat in the corner just once too often in the other class. Mrs Dewolfe was fun, encouraging and everyone in the class loved her..we all tried hard to learn with her as our coach. my corner days were over..and in life i always carried mrs dewolfe's way of having fun while learning.. I had a goal i never expected to achieve academically, yet knowing that learning can be fun i tried to get to the goal..a registered professional engineer..thank you mrs dewolfe!..all of your grade 08 students loved you.. tim kirkby B. I can't tell you how indeed we are so saddened to hear about Doreen's passing. She was a true lady in every description of the word. I know she meant a great deal to many people. Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, friend and confidante. I feel blessed that as a boy, I got to spend many summers with my Mother and Grandmother and Bill and Doreen and family at the two cottages. Those are memories I will treasure forever. Please take solace in the fact that others share your grieve too. She will be greatly missed by all. James Brown and Family.
