We met Cliffe approximately 4 years ago when he was the host for our OASA Bantam tournament in Spencerville. Cliffe was a wonderful man and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him. We met him on several occasions at OASA tournaments and he always had time to chat. We were lucky to have had the opportunity to meet him and get to know him. It was with great sadness that we read his passing in the Brockville Recorder and Times. He touched our lives and we will always fondly remember him. Please accept our deepest sympathies. You were blessed with a great man.

Dear Carol, A dear friend in Kingston was kind enough to contact me regarding Cliff's passing. There's nothing I can say to ease you pain. But I would like you to know that you will constantly be in my prayers. Cliff was a real people person and will leave a void in many lives. But memories will sustain us all. Take care and God bless, Sheila Phillips (KGH employee in x-ray 1970 to 1980 and at FAPC from 1980 to 2001.)

Dear Carol, and all of the Children and Grand Children, My deepest sympathies in learning of Cliffe's passing. I can remember numerous times having conversations over my shoulder out on the ball field, in the stands at the arena, and also at the house as a teenager visiting Karen and Dan. Cliffe was always interested in asking how I and my family were doing and I know how much he loved his family. It is families like yours that I miss an remind me of the beauty of the town I grew up in, and Cliffe was a part of many of my memories. I wish that I could be there to tell you in person. Thinking of you all on this sad day. Mark Bovey Halifax, Nova Scotia

Dear John, Laurie, and families My parents in Kingston just emailed me to tell me of your loss. Your dad was always a fine person and my memories of my teens recall our many interactions and how he always treated me with respect and good humour. When I was a medical student I would run into him occasionally and it was always a pleasure to see him again. I will always remember him well. My sincere condolences to you all David Brooks Summerland, BC

Dear Carol & Family, I was so very sad when I heard of Cliffe's passing. Some people are seen by "younger" people as being capable of living forever, and Cliffe was one of those people. Growing up in the neighborhood, Cliffe was a wonderful man to be around and someone that we saw as a mentor and as a man that anyone could talk with about anything at all. I had the chance, quite often, to visit with Cliffe at the entrance to KGH/FAPC when I had to go there and Cliffe always met me with a big smile, hearty laugh, questions about my family, and as a "friend from Gan". He will be missed by many, many people and remembered as a good Christian man who helped Carol raise a wonderful family. God love him. My prayers and good wishes go out to all of you to have strength during this sad time. John Dennis

Margie: I would like to express my sincere condolences on the recent passing of your father. Matt and Nick also send their thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this difficult time. Although I didn't know your dad that well, on the occasions that I did spent time in his company over the years, he always made me and my family feel welcome and part of your family. You were truly fortunate to have such a man as a model in your life. My father passed away many years ago and I know that no comfort is quite enough to replace your loss. Please pass my deepest sympathies on to your mother, brother, sister’s, and to all of your father's grandchildren. I’ll light a candle at home tonight for Cliffe. Very sincerely, Kenny

To the LeClair family Between the year of a man's birth and his death, it is usually reported in the papers with a dash(1929-2008) but in that dash,Cliffe made such an amazing impression on so many people's lives in such a Christian way. His legacy will stay with so many of us for such a very long time. That is the true cut of a man. He was a solid husband and father that any wife or child would have been proud to say was such an intregal part of their respective lives. God rest his soul
