Dear Wally, Julie, Charlene and Ashley; I tried to write this yesterday but I just could not. I looked at me friends smiling face and just broke down. She knows how much I love and miss her and I know you do to. I still have a hard time coming to grips with the fact that she is gone but have to remind myself that she is in a better place. Dearest family, Doug and I are heartsick for the loss of such a great lady. We remember very well that day in 1977 when we moved to Gananoque where Beth and Wally welcomed us into their home. We have been friends ever since. Julie, Charlene and Ashley were the Joy of Beths' life and when Timothy and Tyson were born--well, that just made life all that much sweeter. Beth loved the hairdressing business and proved that by always having a kind word and a smile for everyone that came into the salon. She always took pride in the way she did the ladies hair and liked it even more when she got to hear about what was happening in town. Her job was a way of keeping in touch with all the people that she didn't get to see on a regular basis. We will miss Beth very much. Most of all I will miss the many hours we got to sit and visit over a cup of Coffee whether it was in the shop or the living room. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. I now know what people mean when they say "words can't describe how sorry I am" but more importantly, I know what they mean when they say "words can't describe how much I love you", as I have seen true love in its purest form, and I am forever in your families debt for showing me this over the past few days. You lost a caring Mother, loving Wife, Grandmother, Sister, and best friend. Your love for her will forever be buried deep in your hearts; but also, the love I saw that she had for you is just as strong, and will be with you forever. So I offer not just condolences, but also a memorial to help you through these, the toughest times of your lives, and so far, mine too. Remember the way she was. She wouldn't want you to feel sad for her or yourselves, she would have hated that, but rather, to feel happy. I'm happy I knew such a wonderful woman who reminded me of my own mother. For this, I am grateful. I will always remember the little things the most. The things SHE loved. Like walking in the front door in the middle of summer and hearing "little drummer boy", or "rockin around the Christmas tree" playing on the stereo; her two favorite Christmas carols. The sound of her slippers shuffling across the hardwood floor in the hall, and waiting to see the smile on her face as she came around the corner every time I brought her daughter home to her. And how proud she was of all of you, and I owe her, for moulding you into the family you are, and the family I am proud you have made me feel a part of. In the end, it's these little things that will help you to not let her go, but instead, cherish the fact that your "baby doll" and "Mama bear" blessed us all just by being who she was. Wally, Julie, Charlene & Ashley My friends, no words can express the deep sadness that I feel for you all at this time. As I have had the pleasure of spending time with you folks over the last few days I find myself reminiscing over fond memories of my childhood in which Wally and Beth were a consistent part of.
