Ellen was such a special kind friendly lady from the time I lived across the street to later years living up the hill on Lakewood.
Thinking of the whole family she will be missed!

Our love is with you all as we share all the love and laughs we had with Ellen, Bob and her family . Christmas and all the great food was always a celebration and no one ever went away hungry. Thinking of you all and sending our regrets!!
Ellen was a treasured friend since we met at Central School in grade 5. We enjoyed several years in the Flippance gymnastic class at St Judes Church three times a week doing all sorts of athletic jumps & spins. High School at Oakville Trafalgar High School on Reynolds Street was another several years in athletics. Always with a smile and a clever witty story, the hosted many lovely lunches. A week spent in a cottage near Parry Sound was great fun....even when a bear rattled the garbage can at night and we were terrified. She truly was a treasure and so pleased to have shared time with her over many years. Her dedication to her family and friends was awesome. Will miss her phone calls on my birthday! Warmest regards to her lovely, lovely family!

I have so many amazing memories to remember my Aunt Ellie! From summers on Tremont island doing puzzles and “perching” to Christmas and Boxing Day in Oakville she was a vibrant, funny and loving member of the Hawkins/Waldie/Vrana clan. Missing her and sending you all big hugs
She was truly one of a kind. We are so lucky to have had her in our lives. We will cherish every memory of her, with a smile, and know her family will do the same.
With deepest condolences Bob and family. We always admired yours and Ellen’s devotion to family. Indeed a lesson for us just a bit younger parents. We enjoyed our visits on walks around the island - mostly in the fall and fewer as we got older.
On a lighter note, Bob, I never asked Ellen if she cleaned your ducks. :). I came from the Midwest where wives do Now Trish and Jane Taylor pretty much avoided that as I recall but threw terrific dinners!! May we all meet again on the rivers of heaven and round the harvest tables. Our thoughts are with you Bob and all! George and Ginger Nugent

I met Ellen and Bob through Dave. She was an amazing mom who took such great care of Dave with the love and spirit in which she led her life. In spite of the fact she worked at Corbetts, and not the other one, ( ha ha) I always enjoyed the times that I spent with the family at the house. She and Bob raised a beautiful and kind family.
Ellen entrusted me to hang out with Dave one day while she and Bob went to the Queens Plate and boy was that an interesting afternoon!
Again, my thoughts are with you, she was a one of a kind.
