Obituary of Marie Margaret Gallagher

“When you create a difference in someone’s life, you not only impact their life, you impact
everyone influenced by them throughout their entire lifetime”.

On June 8^th, 2023 only 4 days after celebrating her 86^th birthday, Marie passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital, Kingston.

Marie was born in England, grew up in Scotland and immigrated to Canada in her 20’s after falling in love with her partner of 63 years, Brian.

Devoted mother to Patrick (Tracy Griffin) and Peggy Cruickshank. Cherished grandmother of Aidan, Derek and Logan. Lovingly remembered by her brother Frank Clarke (Linda). Predeceased by her sister Teresa Clarke. Much loved aunt to her nieces and nephews. Lifetime friendships were nurtured and cherished from her early years in the U.K, St. Catharines , Gananoque and over 30 years as a medical secretary in Kingston. Her wonderful sense of humour, quickness to help and willingness to listen will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church in Gananoque on Friday June 23^rd, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by rite of committal at St. Johns cemetery for the family. Friends are invited to attend a reception at the 1000 Islands Museum, 125 Water St., Gananoque following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers donations made to the Gananoque Humane Society, the UHKF Cancer Centre or to the Providence Care Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The Gallagher’s wish to thank the staff at Providence Care Hospital who provided such loving and compassionate care to Marie during her illness.
