A Celebration of Life and gathering will take place at the Glen House Resort, 409 Thousand Islands Pkwy, Lansdowne on Saturday July 8 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
John was a wonderful island neighbour for 34 years that we knew we could always count on in a time of need. We enjoyed watching John like clockwork go in to get the Saturday paper and have been guided by Bishops Light through the 2 islands to the bay on many dark nights. May you also have a bright light to guide your way. You will be missed.

I send my heartfelt condolences to you all. I will miss my short chats with John at the store or at the dock. He really loved the river and even more his grandchildren. He always got ice-cream treats and I knew the kids were coming. He fought hard to stay well and stay with you all. I know the whole it leaves to lose your husband father and grandfather. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Johnny was one of my favourite customer at the Gan Inn years ago. He always greeted me with his warm smile and stories of his fishing adventures.
He will be missed
I have had many dealings with John over the years and he was a man of his word. From dredging at Spencer's Cottages in the 1980's to dock building at my home on Clark Drive he and his crew did a superb job.

I was fortunate to work with John and Andrew over the many years that he and his company was contracted to install, remove and maintain the Ice Booms for Ontario Hydro and Ontario Power Generation.
I learned a lot from John and have great memories of the time I spent with him on “the river”.

Many of my early childhood memories include John Bishop. Art Green and John and I used to play together racing our trikes, climbing trees or skiing out into the woods. Condolances to the faimly, especially Brenda, who was a classmate in Grade 8.
Brenda, Courtney and Andrew, I am so sorry to hear of Johnny’s passing. We were friends for over 60 years and he will be missed. I always enjoyed our conversations. He was always such an interesting character to talk to.
