Margaret Chitty

Our precious mother Margaret Chitty (Gordon) 98, passed away peacefully March 13, 2023 surrounded by her devoted family.

Margaret was born in Rockley, N.S. to Dan and Mable Gordon. She received her education and nurse's training there. She married Charles William "Bill" Chitty on 07 June 1952 in Pugwash, N.S. prior to their move to Ontario.

Margaret is survived by her children Karen, Philip (Joanne), Robert (Louise) and Heather. Her three grandchildren Philip (Lisa), Chris (Geneva) and Harrison as well as two great grandchildren Cohen and Claire.

Predeceased by her husband Bill and son in law Rick, her sister Jean (Cecil) and her brother Edwin (Isabel).

Graduating as a registered nurse, Margaret worked at several hospitals in Nova Scotia as well as in a private practice in Ontario. A tireless volunteer she gave generously to the many organizations she was associated with. She will be remembered as a loyal and faithful friend.  An epitome of love, a woman with the right blend of strength with grace, courage with compassion and wisdom with vision.
 

We are grateful for all the caregivers who gave of their time to assist Margaret and her family over the past few years allowing her to remain in her own home. Special thanks to Dr. Hart and his staff. We couldn't have done it without you.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
