Obituary of June Dailey
Dailey: Dorothy “June”
June Dorothy (Bishop) Dailey, June 16, 1933. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the heart of our family. June passed away peacefully Sunday, January 22 at Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by her family. June is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband John (Gerald), sweethearts since age 15, married for 70 years. Together they raised 6 children, Karen Klymciw (Robert), Michael (Karen), Tim (Elizabeth), Joanne Pereira (Peter), Leslie Carter (Greg) and sadly pre deceased by son Stephen (Kim). Nana June’s pride and joy were her 12 grandchildren, Emily Klymciw, Alison (Ben), Gillian and Kathleen Dailey (Alex), Evan (Jamie) and Cameron Dailey, Stefanie (Matt) Dailey, Matthew and Olivia Pereira, Nick (Heather), Alex and Ben Carter and 5 great grandchildren, Zoe and Lorne Henderson, Theo and Noah Syme and Casey Dailey. June was predeceased by her parents Helen and Leonard (Mose) Bishop and siblings Jack and Eugene Bishop, Phyllis Davis and Shirley Groves. She is survived by her youngest brother Bruce (Beverley) Bishop. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
June loved gardening, reading and baking for her family, especially cinnamon rolls and coconut cream pie. However, her favourite pastime was supporting her children and grandchildren in their varied pursuits. She could be found riverside at paddling regattas, freezing at arenas for hockey and figure skating and in later years enjoying rugby, dance and swimming competitions. John will miss having the love of his life beside him on his country drives looking for wildlife and listening to music. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home on Friday January 27 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Memorial Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church on Saturday January 28 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations made to the UHKF Cardiology department would be appreciated by the family.
