With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished patriarch and mentor, Ed, on April 6, 2022. Ed passed away peaceful at home with his family members by his side.  Ed is survived by this loving wife and partner of 50 years Simone and his much-loved children, Laurie (Frank), James (Henry) Carol (Don), Sandra (Perry) and Christine (Robb). He was the cherished papa of Daniel, Andrea, Kristie, Michael, Marc, Stephanie, Jessie-Leigh, Amanda-Faith, Kody and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his son Gary Edward (Cathy), July 29, 2021. Ed was an avid golfer, fisher and a man who could fix anything. Ed was the Founder of the largest Freightliner franchise in North America with over 250 dedicated employees. Ed will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings Sheila, Diane, Harold, Henry, David, many friends and associates in the trucking Industry. A Celebration of Life will be held from the Tompkins Funeral Home on Sunday May 22, 2022, Ed’s 91st birthday. Visitation will be at 12:00 pm with the service following at 1:00 pm. Reception will be held from 2-7 at the Gananoque Inn and Spa. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Gananoque Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
