Roger, Matt, Tim and the Mabee family,
We were very saddened to hear of Heather’s passing. Heather's passion for the river and Tremont came through loud and clear. I always enjoyed hearing stories from past days on the island and observing new memories being created with her cherished grandchildren. Heather’s love of an early morning paddle or row will always stick with me.
On behalf of the Hornsby family, please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Roger and family,
We were so sad to hear of Heather’s passing. Ed and I will miss our early morning conversations as she travelled around the island with the dog. It was always great to watch her face as she talked about “her kids”… whether it was her school kids or her beloved grandchildren, she just lit up when recounting stories about them .
Our deepest condolences; we will miss her.

Dear Roger, Tim, Matthew, and the extended Pelow and Mabee Family -
Heather was a part of our 'summer family'. As another part of the Hawkins clan, I too, have fond memories of Heather. It was my absolute pleasure to be a 'hostess' at your wedding shower! The wedding itself was full of love, joy and it was special to be a part of it.
Our Tremont Island life has always been enhanced by our cottage families and Heather's role as a caretaker of her family and the dogs will stay with me. May fond memories help take away some of the sadness for now and know that she impacted many of us in such positive ways.
Please accept our sincere condolences.

Taken from us much too soon, Heather had a way of making everyone around her better - that was her gift to us all. We will miss her sense of humour; witnessing that enviable devotion to her family, and for anyone that was fortunate to have shared it with her, seeing a boundless energy for life. She will still be with us, as we share memories of growing up in Gananoque and all the places our family spent time together.
We'll be back on the River and at the Island soon looking for a sign that she is there too, and no doubt, always at the cottage window as we pass by giving us that energetic wave.

Dear Roger, Matt, Tim and extended family members -
We were so sorry to hear the news of Heather's passing. Please accept our deepest condolences.
I will always remember Heather as the coolest girl on Tremont Island! Even though we were younger, and super shy at the time, my brother Dave and I would wander up to the big Mabee cottage and hang out. Heather had the BEST outdoor summer tent / bedroom set-up that was the envy of many! It was cozy and wired for reading in the dark - not to mention the stacks and piles of ARCHIE comics - a dream come true!
In our adult years, Trevor and I always enjoyed our chats during family events and when we met met up when walking around the island. I will remember the beautiful works of art that Heather created that adorn the the lovely summer island home that Heather and Roger have made. A very talented artist for sure. A fond memory of Heather is when we recall meeting her with her grandchildren. She would be glowing and so happy - grinning ear-to-ear. "Nana-Camp" was a wonderful gift she gave to them (and to herself!) that will provide life-long memories. She will be so missed.
Sincerely, Cris Hawkins and Trevor Smith

Roger and Family,
We are so sorry for your loss - sincerest condolences from our family to yours. We will all miss Heather when paddling, gardening, playing with the dog and doing all those things that make river island life unique. You and Heather have mastered that life! Thank you both for being like second grandparents to our grandkids and great island neighbors.
We always loved the stories of Heather’s tent bedroom growing up, all wired for a reading lamp! Will miss exchanging books with her.
The memories of Heather are wonderful and comforting. You all are in our prayers.
Love, Ginger, George, Georgie, Rip and Magi Nugent

I’ve known Heather since Kindergarten and we grew up together all through elementary school at Linklater. In High School Heather was my physics lab partner. As kids we played and hung out - we once walked all the way around Tremont Island on the ice! That was life as usual for Heather but for me it was tremendously exciting and she reflected my excitement!

Roger, Matthew and Tim,
I am so sorry for your loss of Heather. I was so privileged to work with her. She was an amazing advocate for all the students she worked with. There were so many projects she initiated that we all benefitted from. She made so many things better in her own quiet way. She will be missed and remembered.

Roger and family,
I was absolutely heartbroken to learn of Heather's passing this morning. She and I went to kindergarten at Linklater School together and we both shared a deep love of the river. We had managed to keep in touch over the years and we last saw each other when she dropped over for a visit at Sampson Island a few summers ago when our family had rented the cottage there. I was one of the privileged few who knew who "HP Saucy" was on Facebook. I have attached an old photo that my Dad took many years ago of the Mabee family heading to their cottage on Tremont Island in one of their Amphicars. Heather was probably 7 or 8 at the time. I always smile when I see this picture.
On behalf of my wife, Marion, and myself, please accept our most sincere condolences on your loss.
