Barnes: Mabel Rachel

Peacefully surrounded by family at the Carveth Care Centre on Friday March 25, 2022.  Mabel Johnston beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Barnes.  Dear mother of Neil (Anneke Schagen), Marie Wheeler (Allen), Helen Merkley (Peter Ruttan), Diane Battams (Mike), Carol Neiman and June Barnes.  Lovingly remembered by her Grandchildren Michelle and Erica Merkley, James McAloney, Mathew and Kari-Lynn Wheeler, Christopher and Derek Battams, Greg and Jamie Neiman and Jason Barnes.  Also survive by numerous great grandchildren.  Predeceased by 2 brothers George and Wayne Johnston and 5 sisters Rita Stoness, Irene Cumpson, Pearl Prentiss, May Hegarty and Edna Johnston.  The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Saturday April 2, 2022 from 11am until time of service in our chapel at 1pm.  As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
