Carol Susan Duggan
August 6, 1947 - March 24, 2022

Born in Brampton, ON. Predeceased by parents James & Florence Duggan (nee—Truesdall)
and sisters Patricia & Margaret. After many years of attending multiple public schools on
various Army Base Schools, she settled with her parents in Port Credit, ON where she
graduated from Port Credit High School. After graduation & a number of years being employed
in Toronto at MacDonald Tobacco, she finally took some time for herself and travelled. Upon
returning to Ontario, she worked for temporary secretarial services in Toronto and ultimately
moved to Gananoque to be with her parents at which time, she began her long career as an
employee of the Town of Gananoque. Her many town commitments included active service to
the local Lion’s Club, serving on the Police Board & very efficiently and compassionately
administering the town’s Social Welfare program. Gananoque very quickly became home for
Carol. She embraced Gananoque and her fellow coworkers at the Town Office as her second
family.
Carol’s love of life, her untiring service to many town endeavours, her fierce loyalty to both
friends and family will forever be remembered. She will be sadly missed & lovingly remembered
by her soulmate & friend of over 50 years, Judy Campbell of Fenelon Falls and her very special
friend (and daily life support person over the years of her declining health), Sue Smith of
Lyndhurst. Special thanks to the staff of Carveth Nursing Home for their care and compassion
in Carol’s final months.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and Carol will rest in peace with her parents in
the Gananoque Cemetery. If desired, donations in Carol’s
memory can be made to the Gibson Family Health Care Charitable Foundation.
