Goodfriend: Ronald Neilson

Passed away at home surrounded by the comfort of family on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Agnes Goodfriend (Turcotte). Much loved father of Jeanette Goodfriend (Don), Louise Bowden (Stephen), Betty Jo Penner (Mitch) and Angela DesRochers (Pete). Predeceased by 1 son Ronald.  Cherished grandfather of Dawn (Rob), Rosa, Amanda (Nathan), Scott (Mandy), Adam (Colleen), Sara (Justin), Ben (Kelly), Lacey, Hailey (Corey) and Amber (Pete). Will be lovingly remembered by 12 great grandchildren. Ron will be sadly missed by Matt and Lauren. A private family funeral service will take place in the chapel of Tompkins Funeral Home with rite of committal following at St. Philomena’s cemetery, Howe Island. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Howe Island Fire and Rescue would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Cheryl Corcoran, Nurse practitioner Margaret O’Neill and Dr. Brian Hart for the care and compassion, and supportive help the family has received. They are forever grateful.
