Obituary of David Jaeger Hodgson

David Jaeger Hodgson
September 16, 1970 – January 10, 2022

On January 10, 2022, in Kingston, Ontario, Dave “Jaeger” Hodgson at the age of 51, passed away suddenly as a victim to a violent crime. Despite the struggles Dave faced throughout his life, he was a loving & caring husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. Dave was the son of June Hodgson of Kingston, Ontario and Jay Hodgson of Toronto, Ontario, and the brother of Vivian Hodgson. Dave is predeceased by his wife Tina Hodgson (nee Maddigan). Dave leaves behind his two children, daughter, Jade Hodgson-Nicholl-Carne, and son, Kaleb Warren, and is predeceased by his eldest son Maverick Hodgson-Curtis. He also leaves behind one grandson.
He will be remembered by the many friends he made throughout his life, and the community members he came across during his times of struggle. Dave’s daughter would like her father to be remembered for his love of rebuilding cars and teaching her everything he knew about them. Waking up during the nights to make garlic noodles with her when she could not sleep, organizing and facilitating pizza lunches at her public school and being the proud parent
with the largest video camcorder at every competition for horseback riding, figure skating, etc. Dave would often repeatedly say “Have I ever told you how much I love you?” to his daughter Jade. The families hope for Dave is that he knows how much he was loved by all of them, and that he has finally found peace. His daughter Jade would like to express her gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Kingston’s Integrated Care Hub for their dedication to the community, and the respect and bonds they built with Dave during his time there.
