It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Margaret Hall (nee Rae) on November 16^th, 2021, age 94 years. She passed away peacefully while holding hands with her daughter Arlene and granddaughter Heather at Rideaucrest Home in Kingston. She was born on July 7^th, 1927 in Oakville, Ontario and grew up in a log cabin in Hough Lake near Englehart. After getting married in 1946, she spent time living in Virginiatown, Bancroft, Manitouwadge, Sudbury, and Kirkland Lake. She spent many years living in Gananoque after her husband’s death in 1998. She was a champion bingo player, a fierce euchre and cribbage opponent, and she loved cats. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, parents Alex and Christina and brothers Hamish, Ron (Helen), and Doug (Evelyn). Much loved and loving mother to Doug, Kathy Francis (Irv), Bruce (Debbie), and Arlene Funnell (Pat). Nanny to Matthew Hall (Kristin), Heather Hall (Rob Simard), Dana Funnell (Rick Hart), and Adam Funnell (Maggie). Great Nanny to Sophie Hall and Kaitlyn Simard. To our mom, family was everything and we will miss her so much. Dorothy is also survived by her brother Sandy (Vi) and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff at the Carveth Retirement Lodge where Dorothy lived for many years. We would also like to thank the staff at Rideaucrest Home 2^nd Floor where Dorothy spent the last few weeks of her life. The family is very appreciative of the care and compassion she received at Carveth and Rideaucrest. Due to COVID-19, a private funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gananoque & District Humane Society in Dorothy’s memory.
