Our thoughts & prayers go out to the family, on the passing of Jim. He was a fellow Knight in both Council 9652 St. Paul the Apostle & a Sir Knight in Assembly 857 of Kingston. But most of all a friend. Rest in peace.

I knew Jim through the Kiwanis Club of Kingston where he was a long standing member. I remember him as a very kind and caring person. When I joined he was the secretary of the club and it soon became obvious that he was the "glue" that bound the club together. He was well versed in the ins and outs of the Kiwanis organization and was always counted on to steer the club in the "right" direction. He was also a pragmatic "let's get the job done" person. I found it refreshing that his first priority on proposed projects was always "how can we make it work for the benefit of the community?" You could tell he had been an effective and successful manager in his business life. His great sense of humour made Kiwanis meetings enjoyable. I have missed and will continue to miss looking for opportunities to trade puns with him during the meetings. My condolences to his family. He was a special Kiwanian and a special person. It was with great sadness that I learned of Jim's passing. To his family, I wish you strength and comfort. We have lost a dear friend, a true gentleman, and a great Kiwanian who was respected by all. In 1999- 2000, I became the first female governor for the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District of Kiwanis which comprised 265 Kiwanis Clubs in 17 countries. It was hectic and tumultuous times but I always knew I could count on Jim's quiet sense of humour, integrity and total support. Kiwanis in Kingston and South Eastern Ontario were always in good hands.
