Obituary of Rachael Anne Smith

Smith: Rachael Anne Nov. 29, 2000 - Aug. 1,2021 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Rachael Anne Smith on August 1, 2021. Rachael, beloved daughter of Darryl Smith and Kelly Crawford. Much loved sister of Nathan, Cameron, Meghan and Kyle. Cherished granddaughter of Ann and James Crawford, and Janet and Vincent Smith. Sadly missed by her aunts, uncles and cousins. Rachael was loved and adored by her family, and she returned the love in kind. She was at the center of all of their activities. She was an exceptional young woman full of wit and charm, one who was always willing to lend a hand. One of her hallmarks was her ability to complete any task asked of her with the utmost care and with meticulous attention to detail. These traits, along with her outstanding academic performance at Queens University (Chemistry), surely would have carried her through to her dream of pursuing medicine. Rachael loved people and expressed this as she worked fervently volunteering her time at the Kingston Covid vaccine clinics knowing that she could help make a difference. She was an extremely outgoing and active person, never afraid to tackle new challenges. To know her was to love her, and the world is forever changed without her. She was a bright light in our lives and a beacon for our souls. A private family funeral service will be held to honour Rachael. As expressions of sympathy donations made to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (Cardiology Department) would be appreciated by the family. We love you always and forever Rachael, and will miss you for a lifetime.
