Obituary of Katherine "Katie" "Kate" Jeffries

Katherine (Katie, Kate) Elizabeth Jeffries July 21, 1985 – August 7, 2021 Our beloved daughter, sister, Aunty and friend. Kate is survived by her parents Robert and Freda Jeffries, sister Jaime, brothers Robert & Spencer, brothers-in-law Yannick Bessette (Jaime) & Ryan Hayward (Spencer) and nieces, Ellia and Annabelle (Jaime and Yannick). Kate will be remembered with love by her closest lifelong friend Heidi Flowers and missed dearly by her loyal kitty Tommy and new puppy Moose. Kate was not presumed to be able to survive 3 months because of CHARGE condition and its associated multiple serious life and health challenges. Kate was ultimately able to come home. Thereafter she survived daunting surgeries and overcame all odds to share and give love so massively throughout her life, now too short. We, and all the friends, of her life miss our miracle girl and hold her dearly in our hearts forever. Kate and her family thank all of you. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the IWK Foundation (Izaak Walton Killam Hospital, Halifax, Nova Scotia) in Kate’s honour and with a profound sense of gratitude to Doctors Alec Allen and Dora Stinson for their love and guidance. We also extend gratitude to her other doctors, support departments, and nursing staff who were supportive and cared for Kate after her birth and into adulthood. A Celebration of Life will be organized by the family at a later date
