Dear Annette and all the family...I surely remember Carolyn and Ed (one of our local, valued Veterans), from Wakefield days (my friend Susan McPherson lived at 144 and Carolyn and Ed were so kind to her). Please accept my condolences and yes, they were very supportive of the Milton community, many fond memories of them at Legion events, town events, at our home and lots of laughs on Wakefield. My Aunt Carolyn was a bookworm. When I was younger, she had a "magical" closet filled with books and would give me one every time I visited with my family. She sparked my love of reading. We always visited during the Easter holidays and my aunt had an old typewriter that she would set up for me to write and play with. I knew she wrote for the local newspaper and I imagined her to be an intrepid local reporter, highlighting local community events. She and my uncle were volunteers in their community and cared about their town and local events. She, like my father, came from Bermuda; neither forgot their home island. They shared a love of cassava pie and flying kites at Easter. She was an explorer and I hope and pray she is travelling the heavens with Uncle Eddie.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her brother Joe (my Dad).
