O’Neill: Paul Gerard (1940-2020) Paul Gerard O’Neill peacefully passed away at the Carveth Care Centre on October 22, 2020 at the age of 79 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Anne O’Neill (Murray) for 35 years. Paul was born and raised in Belleville and graduated from the University of Ottawa and Queen’s University for teaching. His teaching career brought him to Bramalea, Brighton and Cloyne. He later settled in Gananoque working at St. John’s church where he retired from. Paul was predeceased by 1 sister, Sister Marguerite O’Neill(SP), and by 2 brothers Father Harold O’Neill and Father Bernard O’Neill and Step-son Murray Hockey. Paul will lovingly be remembered by his brothers Joseph O’Neill and Ray O’Neill (Jean) of Belleville. Much loved Step-father of Tim Hockey (Kim) of Kingston, and Todd Hockey (Erika) of Kemptville. He was blessed with 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Carveth Care Centre for their excellent care and compassion; you are angels, and also Dr. Christine Miller for being so kind. A private family Mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist church. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the St. John’s Restoration Fund or to the Gananoque food bank would be appreciated by the family.
