So sorry to hear that Eileen has passed away!
To Bonnie, our sincerest condolences to you and your family. Our thoughts are with you during these difficult times. May your dear mother rest in peace!
This pleasant lady was my mother's cousin! Our relationship dates back to my childhood years in North Cobalt. I also remember her mother who visited us quite regularly in the 1950s. I'm holding on to the precious memories of these two lovely ladies.
In 1970, my future husband and I were surprised when Eileen announced that she wanted to have our wedding cake made by someone she knew. This would be her wedding gift to us. Throughout the years, I often reminded her how grateful we were for this lovely and delicious wedding gift. As if this wasn't enough, she also gave me a beautiful pair of earrings which I continue to wear in her memory.
When I lost my father in 2002 (Raoul Brazeau) and my mother (May Beland-Brazeau) in 2010, Eileen came to Ottawa for their funeral services. It was always a treat to spend time with her.
Dearest Eileen! I thought of you on June 11, 2020. Hopefully, you enjoyed your first birthday in heaven. Ray and I will always cherish the sweet memories of YOU. Rest in peace!
Love and hugs from both of us,
Edna (Brazeau) and Ray Lepage

So sorry. Mrs Gibson and the judge Hugh Gibson we’re always so kind and generous. Growing up on the island with the Gibson family so close by our farm..memories of the golf course, mr norm Leslie, Carl tingren, the dune buggy , and the Gibson’s large cruiser which would throw a huge wake for us to swim in..And the FLQ crisis and posting of military guards at the Gibson house..even the Canadian Finance minister mr Edgar Benson could be found at The Gibson’s.
Lynn..was there at my mums wake in 2012..always so thoughtful and kind..The island has lost a touch with the undiscovered island of old...an island that many current and former islanders cherish for ever..just as our thoughts of mrs. Gibson’s passing has caused us to pause..and smile at the wonderful Gibson’s of howe island.
So very sorry,
Tim Kirkby....
