Recalling the memory of Ed's Industrial Arts classes when I in Grades 7 & 8 at Cathedral School and his lines for meticulous printing for your missteps during his classes. "Empty barrels make the most noise. Few things are impossible with diligence and skill." Life long mantras for character development and spiritual growth. Ed was given the gift of years. Take comfort in the sacred memories he gave to his family, students and community. Enjoy the fulness of life dear Ed and thanks for the memories.

Ed Lanigan was a devoted pro-lifer who attended almost every annual National March for Life in Ottawa. He also attended every pro-life event in Kingston whenever possible. He respected every human life even the tiniest ones which were still in the mothers womb. He loved his own family and spoke about them often. God bless you Ed and all your family. His name will be added to the "In Memorium" column in the Interim Newspaper where he joins the other heroes listed there.
Sincerely,
Mary Ellen Douglas, Ontario President, Campaign Life Coalition

Ed touched the lives of many, many people during his time on Earth and continued his teaching by example long after leaving the profession he dearly loved.
He will be remembered as a man who practiced his faith, clearly articulating its principles.
Ed was a familiar figure over the years standing up for the unborn at such events as the March for Life in Ottawa and LifeChain in Kingston.
Ed's numerous friends and acquaintances traveled to nearby Rockport in 2018 to help celebrate his milestone 100th birthday....an afternoon he often recalled, as do many who attended that day. His devotion to his faith and its teachings were warmly recognized, receiving an Apostolic Blessing from Pope Francis.
Our sincere condolences to Ed's family and many friends.

Thinking of Ed today, as I often do..remembering how kind he always was to my family. My Dad, Emmett Colgan, was his cousin..born in the same year, and although he passed away many years ago, Ed never failed to keep in touch with us. He often told us he was determined to live to be 100 years old and I am so happy for him that he reached that amazing goal. We will always remember his kind, generous nature. Rest in peace, Ed..you will be missed.
Sincere sympathy, from Karen Colgan and family

My deepest condolences to all his family.
I have many fond memories of Ed over the past few years, he always had a story or a joke for a listening ear. His humour was definitely my favourite, he always had that one special saying after he told me joke “ it’s a clean one, you can take that home to your Grandma”
He will truly be missed Rest easy Mr. Lanigan
